Ice skating in Barcelona
From 03/12/2011 To 08/01/2012 Venue: Plaça Catalunya
Barcelona may be more associated with the beach and sunbathing than ice skating but this winter, you can do exactly that in the city! Plaça Catalunya has been converted into a giant covered ice rink by the city council as part of this years festive activities and celebrations throughout the city.
The plastic roof is transparent to let plenty of light in but still allow skating on the infrequent rainy day, and the rink itself is a whopping (muy grande) 1200m2, the biggest outdoor ice rink in Europe, large enough for 350 skaters.
You can skate here from Saturday 3rd December until the beginning of January, a great activity for kids and for grown ups alike, right in the heart of the city at the entrance to Las Ramblas.
Price including skate hire is 8 per hour and 6 euros for 30 minutes.
